Felipe is a vibraphonist, percussionist, composer and Costarican educator, nominated with Charlie Sepulveda & The Turnaround in 2008 and was nominated for a Grammy and Latin Grammy with Nestor Torres on his production ̈Nouveau Latinö" in 2009. He graduated from the Puerto Rican Music Conservatory (receiving the medal for the best student in 2010) and from the National University of Costa Rica (U.N.A.) with the highest grade point average in 2006. He has played and recorded with the likes of The Eddie Gómez Trio, Charlie Sepúlveda, Vicentico, Cheo Feliciano, Rubén Blades, Larry Harlow, Roberto Roena, Néstor Torres, Achilles Liamarkopolous (Canadian Brass), Danilo Pérez Panama Big Band, Carli Muñoz, IAJE Latin American All Stars Ensemble, Editus, Son de Tikizia. He has resided in New York City since 2013. He has performed at the Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, Cornelia´s Cafe, El Museo del Barrio, amongst others. |
